We often see people exercising at various times and wonder if it’s the right time. You probably already know how hard it can be to fit a good workout into your hectic schedule even if you do work out regularly. Since many people always try to do things in an optimal way, then perhaps wondered if you were doing any harm to your body by an off-hour work-out. The answer is no, you aren’t causing any harm to your body. If you have your routine down, then you already know your body has adjusted to the time of your fitness routine. Working with what time you have available is the most important thing you can do for your body. Think about these suggestions however when considering the best time to exercise.
You have to do what your schedule allows even if that means first thing in the morning. It’s important for you to remember though that you may need to help your body adjust. The easiest way to do this is by warming up properly and thoroughly. Your muscles and joints are not ready for the day to begin let alone exercise so warming them up in the morning is especially important. This alone can put you at a higher risk for injury if you aren’t careful to warm up. Be sure you are doing everything in your power to warm up your muscles before working them hard.
If your schedule changes frequently you will have more of a challenge figuring out a good time for your workout. When you work and sleep flop back and forth, it seems like there is no best time.
I do know the feeling about that one and know your pain! But, just keep in mind that the single most important consideration and thought is how important regular exercise is for you. Above average demands make it harder to get into a routine, but you can figure it out. I have done this and I have seen others do it as well so I know that can also.
The afternoon and later in the day are the most ideal times to exercise. There are many biological reasons why that is so. It seems our bodies are acclimated to activity from the day, and many of our functions are just prime for a hard work-out. Injury-friendly really means you are less likely to get injured because your muscles are already warmed up. Do not despair you will figure out a workout program that works for you. The best thing you can do is work out a time for exercise and set your mind to do it, your body will adapt.
There are some who disagree with morning workouts and others still who disagree with evenings. It’s important that you make your own choices as to time and just create a new time for you internal clock.
